You can try Gerber Prune Juice about 2oz with about 1oz of water and see if that will loosen the bowel. You can also try giving him a teaspoon of mineral oil. If he is on formula he may need to try a soy formula if he just started whole milk you may need to slowly wing him into it and it that doen't work try a soy or lactaid milk, he very well could not be able to digest the dairy product. Good Luck. Make sure you give him lots of water. If he is dehydrated it could also be the source of the problem.

I would avoid cow's milk until he's over this b/c cow's milk is VERY constipating. My daughter LOVED Silk milk (she's now on cow's milk.) Also, get him to drink half prune juice/half water combination a few times a day. Gerber has a great apple prune juice that worked great for my kids. GL...it's so sad to see them struggle with this, I know.
Also, all of the P's are great with "moving the bowels"...pears, peaches, peas, prunes, etc...my one year old loves the canned pears and peaches.

Believe me this works. I have a 30 month old. Put karo surip in his milk warm it a littel and that will help that. Continue to do so for about 2 months in each cut or bottel of milk ( use about 2 table spoons per 8 oz.)

When my older son was an infant, (newborn, tiny infant) his pediatrician said to mix 2 tablespoons of DARK Karo syrup with 2 ounces of water and give it to him in a bottle. It did the trick several hours later. OMG...that child had a blow out like you wouldn't believe! For a one year old, you might want to double it and give him 4 T. of syrup mixed with 4 oz. water, since he's probably at least twice the size he was when he was born (at least I hope he is!)
Also, make sure he's drinking plenty of water throughout the day. Lack of water can constipate a person.

Try feeding him prunes or prune juice. If this does not work then take him to the doctor.

well for my daughter prunes works the best. but apples also help. give him apple juice and fresh cut up apples if you can. also oatmeal will help. if nothing is working try a glycerin suppository, they sell them in pharmacies. if none of that works he needs to see a doctor. good luck.

they have those depositories that you put up thier butt to help the stuff come out, my aunt used it when my cousin was born. i dont know if it is true or not but ask your doctor if maybe he is getting too much iron, it would not hurt to ask! go to the store and see what kind of depositories they sell and then confirm it with your doctor that it is ok for you to use it on your son. they may have to be over the counter i am not sure.
