Why is former President Bill Clinton referred to as our "First Black President" in some segments of Society?

I often hear Black Politicians refer to him this way and wonder why. Anybody know?

Well being a Black woman who is somewhat politically aware, Bill Clinton is probably the closest thing America will get to having a Black president. He was real cool, he played the saxophone for goodness sack, and plus he was "Getting some head, gettin gettin some head!!!" LMAO!

Because Bill Clinton and Jesse Jackson double dated with other women while the wives were away,plus you could always find Bill and Hillary sitting in the front seats of black churches when there was an election coming up

Bill Clinton actually said this himself ina speech to some group during his presidency, maybe in his second campaign,. It is funny. He was great with humor and it was meant to be funny. Lighten up. It was funny! That said, I did not vote for him. And he only won against Bush 41 because of Perot and he won with just over 40% of the popular vote. It is a fluke of the electoral college system. Third parties tend to be spoilers for one of the two major parties. Perot spoiled the run by Dole as well. He had NO chance with Perot in the race sucking off popular vote that afftected the electoral college.

I guess they're trying to say,that Clinton tried "acting" like Black People,for whatever that means. Because he's from Arkansas,a Southern State,he naturally has Southern ways. He has the Southern accent,eats Southern foods,and has the Southern hospitality. He was simply "down to earth",like Southern people are.

Because, and this is just what I've been told, having illicit affairs and multiple sexual liaisons is supposedly a part of the 'black culture'. Supposedly, it's okay for black men to engage in this type of behavior while married, with no repercussions. Thus, Mr. Clinton earned himself the title of 'first black president'.

Because he cared about the poor more then any other president in recent history. He did more to get the less fortunate ways to get into college, and provide them with a way to get ahead not stay in the same vicious cycle.

Hell I don't know because everything that he did that people despised him for, white men do it too (All men cheat and some smoke marjuana). So I really don't know what that was about. And he was not only for black minorities, he was for minorities in general, he was a Democrat. And to the dude above me, fYI, all blacks are not poor do your research. if you haven't notice there are some white poor people too.
