One Christmas years ago when my boys were very small, I had absolutely no money at all. Nothing. I could not get them even one present to share. I remembered that I had opened my bank account with a 5$ deposit, so I thought to myself, I will just go get the 5 out and close the account, buy them each something at the dollar store. I went to the bank and learned that someone had deposited 200$ in my account just the day before. I broke down crying right then and there at the bank, I thought I would fall to my knees. You can bet my children had a good Christmas that year! I have never learned the identity of the person that gave us that money, but I wish I could thank them. If nothing else, now that time has passed kindly for us and we are fortunate (financially) now ourselves, I never allow myself to forget that Christmas, and how hopeless it felt. I never hesitate to help a needy family whenever I am able, but especially at Christmas. kids need Christmas. :)

I had worked for several temp services and was having a hard time finding regular perm work. I was working at this clinic and just barely make ends meet to a point of not knowing where my next meal was coming from. My B/F becomes engrossed in his car sometimes and didn't get it. SomehowI I was telling someone at the clinic about it, this one guy took up a collection from everybody and the next thing I knew I had enough food for a month!! At first I was embarrassed beyond belief, but I realized that these people would not have done that if they hadn't cared.
Of course my B/F apologized till he was blue in the face and he always made sure I had food after that, but those people I will never forget as God sometimes takes the worse situations and makes this beautiful.

The first winter my husband and I were living together, he would have to go to work about a half hour before me. I came down to find the ice scraped off my windscreen every single morning. It was such a simple nice thing, it always made me feel good all day.
The other thing that I remember most was the first time I travelled with my daughter as a young baby and I was by myself and had to tote all this stuff with me. A man on the plane helped me carry the car seat and the bags all the way out the terminal and waited with me until my ride came.

Two stories:
I took my first big trip alone a few years ago. My first stop was to New York and I decided to be industious and take the subway into the city from the airport. There were tons of train changes I had to make and I had two large, heavy bags. Everytime I came to a set of stairs and was struggling up or down, a New Yorker came and helped me carry them. That would never happen in LA (where I live now). New Yorkers may be in a hurry, but they have big love for people.
Second story: I was in my first year of college and had a bad few weeks. I decided to get out and about for some air, so I took the bus down to State Street (shopping near beach). I was on the verge of tears the whole ride down because I was so depressed. When I got off the bus and was deciding where to walk, a little old man in a white sport coat came up to me. Without saying anything, he handed me a white rose, smiled, and went on his way. Talk about the random kindness of strangers...

Well, for starters, my parents had me. But, well... I wasn't really alive to ask for life, so I don't know if that counts.
So then the kindest thing done for me was all the work and effort that my teachers put into teaching me. I've had several wonderful teachers and just as many terrible ones, but each one taught me a part of what I now know today. I was not always grateful for what they'd done, but now, many years older and wiser, I am - even for the completely useless work they'd make me do, like looking lists of words up in the dictionary. And boy, I sure never asked for that!

Last September I got very sick with Pneumonia and Pleurisy. I could barely breathe and was confined to my bed. I had moved to a new town a couple of months before and did not know many people yet. A few ladies from my Church took turns and every day, without a fault, for two weeks, they came by at lunch and dinnertime and brought me and my father (who is 90) a hot meal.
I will never forget their kindness.

In 1998 I was at the lowest point in my life. I was living in a homeless shelter. One day a man tapped me on the shoulder. When I turned around he handed me two-dollars! I said, "what is this for." He said, "you look like you could use two-dollars." At that time I needed those two-dollars more than anything in the world! It was just the spark that I needed. That act of kindness changed my life forever! I am now a successful businessman and I've dedicated my life to helping others! An unexpected gift has great POWER!!

The kindest thing anyone has ever done for me was to tell me about the Lord Jesus Christ and what He done for me. He died for my sins, He was buried and took my sins away and He rose again the third day for my justification. When I heard it I believed and now I have a home in God's heaven. 1 Corinthians 15: 3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 1 Corinthians 15: 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

I came home from work the other day on a very very hot day and my neighbor had an air conditioner for me. It was totally unexpected and I (and my dog) are so grateful. It was an oven in my 4th floor apartment and she knew I needed one but couldn't afford one right away. It was the nicest thing to do.

At my junior prom, my boyfriend was a complete idiot. He ignored me for all of my friends (people he met that same day) and everyone was just pissed at him. When I was sitting at a table with him and about three of my girlfriends at post prom (on a boat) and he asked my friends to dance without asking me (they hit him and pointed at me so he was forced to ask) I just got fed up with everything. I said no, and when they were on the dance floor I grabed my purse and went straight up to the top deck and just stood there for at least an hour or so.
About an hour, one of my friends just so happened to come up becasue he was tired of all the excitement and rap music, so going up to the top deck with just a few tables and chairs with relaxing classical music was just the thing he needed. He asked me what was wrong and I explained to him everything that happened. He smiled, put his hand on my shoulder and said "dont worry about it, you are by far the most beautiful girl at the prom." I knew that he was just saying that to make me feel better, but sometimes you just need someone to humor you. After that, he just put his coat over me and forced me to come down because it was too cold and I could have gotten sick.
It just meant so much to be because he was just so nice to me when I needed someone to humor me and be there to just be nice. It isnt so much that he did something for me, but the fact that he was there when I needed him and he told me what I needed to hear (even though I knew it wasnt true) it made me feel better than ever.
