I looked at the leaderboard, and saw that the top "answerer" had answered almost 8000 questions. Is there that much time in the day or did he cheat?

There's that much time in five months, although it does mean less time for tv or other hobbies and sometimes even late nights at the computer. It's an addiction, but an addiction isn't so bad when you spend so much of your time helping people, is it?

Some of the questions asked are repeats from people who just didn't know how to find the answers, so those are the easiest to answer again. If you're talking about Kevin, he just knows a lot of different things and is great at finding new info and explaining answers quickly and concisely while providing the sources as well.

The team is already familiar with all the people at the top of the leaderboard, so they would be ready to suspend anyone they found to be cheating. If you look through the Q&A, though, you'll find that he's helped out a ton of different people with good answers.

As mentioned above, a lot of the points when you have that many best answers do come from thumbs up on them. Unfortunately for him and great for us, that only serves to encourage his addiction so he's more likely to get on Yahoo! Answers again whenever he has some free time on his hands.

If you look at his profile his best answer percent is about 50% so there is about 40000 point there. I just have to say the people there must have been here since it started. Not sure how long that's been. But They also need to get a life and find something better and more social to do. Get out and meet people in person.

When you become popular, people give you extra points by giving you thumbs up.

Also, some get lots of best answer. that's 10 points for every 2 of yours.

Has no life--lonely, pathetic. Or maybe its his only goal in life right now and so he's a winner!

they've been at it from the beginning, obviously.
and they probably don't just give answers, they give GOOD answers, so they get picked for best answer all the time.
