Your period is a natural occurance. It is even healthy for you. If you have missed it for almost a year, something may be seriously wrong, or you may be pregnant. Stress can cause a period to skip for a while, or extreme wieght loss, or menopause. I suggest you see a doctor if you do not know the cause of your missed periods. It could be a sign that something is not right. And it's better to be safe than sorry.

It's not uncommon and you're not going to die from it.
Girls/women who are extremely physically active tend not to have regular cycles. Other factors may come to play as well, but I'm speaking from experience.
To regulate get on the pill.

I haven't had one in a year also. I am on the Seasonale birth control and simply have not bled when I take the sugar pills. My OB/GYM said it's normal and you do not have to bleed to be normal. I would check with your DR if you do not know the reason why you haven't had one.

You won't die from it, but it's not good for your bones. Go to the doctor and get your harmone levels tested.

Probably not. Usually girls who don't eat enough, don't have enough body weight or exercise a lot don't get their period. You should probably get a GYN check up to make sure nothing physical is wrong.
