Tanning causes melanoma (skin cancer), not to mention a older more leathery appearance to your skin as you age. You could try to use bronzer which is much safer and does a better job with coverage (no tan lines). You just have to make sure that you let the bronzer set before going outside or it will run. Please stay out of the sun (use sun screen as much as possible) and I promise not only will you be healthier, you'll look younger.

The safest way to get darker is using a self tanner as the sun or a tanning bed have a chance of skin cancer.

I had one friend die of skin cancer and know several others who've been treated for it or had part of their ear or nose cut off to remove the cancer. Yes, it's bad to tan.
Take a look at ladies who've played lots of tennis or golf throughout their lives. They look old beyond their actual age because of the wrinkles from all that tanning.
I use fake tan from a bottle to get that desired tan without the danger of the sun or tanning bed.

Yes, it is bad. Tanning beds can up your chances of skin cancer. Not to mention, your skin will get all leathery when you're in your late 30s or 40s. (We're talking alligatory) Try a good self-tanner, I've personally used Clinique and Neutrogena. There's also regular moisturizers that contain self-tanning-like properties, I like those as well.

Sun AND Ultraviolet Tanning is always going to be bad for your skin. Even with sunscreen, and worse without it, you have a chance to develop skin cancer. A spray or something you see on the commericals might work. Just find something that won't smear off.

Also, people can't stay inside because they need vitamin k but absorbing 10 minutes of sun.

It's ok to tan, but not for 20 minutes every day. I usually lay for 5 minutes in a ten minute bed once or twice a week. which is equal to 10 minutes in a 20 minute bed once or twice a week. Don't ever burn, or you'll have to stop until it goes away, and be sure to use proper eye wear and keep your skin covered with moisturizers.

Yeah, it's really bad for you. (If you're talking about in a tanning bed.) You can use a self-tanner, but most people just look ridiculous when they use that. Don't go tanning in the summer, just lay out in the sun. That's still bad, but whatever. I'm not gonna waste my life worrying about it. I'm a beach bum....

tanning is bad b/c of the uv rays. It causes skin cancer. There are creames you can use. I've not looked into them, so I don't know if any are harmful, but I not heard anything through the grapevine either. Good luck
