I have been using heated oils for ages. They have the oil warmers at walmart for like $7 bucks. They are lil ceramic things that you put a tealight under to warm the oil. I set mine in front of a fan or vent to disperse it through out the house.

As far as oils, well you can get them at wal mart too, but they are usually diluted and dont smell as nice. You can get oils at the health food store, or any candle/soap/insense shop.

You just put a few drops of oil in the top of the burner, light the tealight candle and go...

If you have little ones, or live in an apartment with pets, you may want to look at an electric popouri crockpot. They have them at walmart as well. They can be set up high enough so your kids or pets wont knock it over and risk fire. You can either use liquid potpouri or the dried stuff and add water. I have one i use when I travel as I like for my hotel rooms to smell familiar. I fill it with liquid potpouri (it will hold an entire size of the fragrance that is like $1.00 at wal mart.) plug it in when I leave, and when i come home it smells nice and yummie.

If don't want to buy any scents, i also put, cinnamon sticks, cloves and apple juice in it and let that get the house all yummie smelling. Hope that helps

one of the easiest way to make your home smell nice is to add a cinnamon stick, a bit of vanilla and some sliced apple to a pan, with some water, and let it simmer on the stove.

A little bit about fragrances, and aromatherpy:

vanilla is a relaxing, home-y scent that mixes well with almost everything

lavender is relaxing, and helps reduce stress and nausea

rosemary is energizing, and mixes great with citrus scents, and with lavender

grapefruit, orange and lemon are energizing scents, that are wonderful to fight general feelings of depression

Sage, cedar, patchouli are more woody scents - great for the outdoorsy person.

There are several ways to fragrance your home... I prefer the more 'natural' methods:

Candles, incense

Mix your own blend of essential oils (you can find essential oils online, at health food stores, new age stores, etc.) Now, fill a spray bottle halfway with distilled water, add your fragrance oil, and fill the rest with rubbing alcohol. Use the 90% stuff if you can. You can also use vodka or everclear, if you want to avoid the 'alcohol smell'. This makes a great roomspray, that you can also use to freshen linens. Just make sure you test a section that you're not worried about staining first.

If you use an 'oil warmer' with an open flame, be very careful, as some essential and fragrance oils can be flammable.

How about candles? I love Yankee Candle--my fave scents are Storm Watch, Hydrangea, Christmas Cookie, Country Linen, Granny Smith, Pumpkin Pie, Midsummers Night and Juicy Cherry.

I hate Cinnamon and vanilla scents i do not comprehend why yet today we are continuously utilising both sweet Pea or Cucumber Melon from Gold Canyon Candles and they are astounding, my cousin is a representative and after I do a e book celebration i'm getting $50 in loose candles. in case you want pineapple mango you'll love this one referred to as "Pineapple Cilantro" it in undemanding words is equipped in 3 pillars sizes even if it smells soooo good.

You can buy different oils at flea markets and health food stores. Lavender is nice.

Vanilla is best.
Also, just bake some bread.
Springs of eucalyptus or rosemary also work well, or a potpourri of lavender.
