You have to have a drivers license to drive a car. Doe's anyone think you should have to have a license to have children? I.Q. tests, prove that you can take care of them, prove that you are not just trying to get more from the government for welfare and foodstamps? I'd really love to see what others think about this.

To clarify a bit. Anyone that would be a good parent but may be slightly below the intelligence quotient, should certainly have the right to have a child. I'm suggesting tighter controls to restrict unwanted births, neglected or abused children, or a drain on an already overtaxed Country.
By the way, there have been some wonderful responses. It's a great indication that you all really care about the children being brought into today's world. Thank you!

For example, if a person who doesn't qualify in such tests is also a human being. As another human being how do you have the right to stop his procreation? One person can't have control over others just because he doesn't qualify the parameters set by the first one.

People have children....it's just nature. A License? You know that will never happen...I just wish people had more of an animal instinct...To protect..Nurture..Shield..Feed....and such. There are alot of animals out there who care for their young and do a heck of a better job of it....sorry to say then we humans. But they learn from their environment...people need to understand...a baby will grow up to be an adult.

if there was a license to have kids. everybody would fail...lol
caring for kids is trial and error and you learn from them(mistakes) and make you wiser in the end and learn how to take care of them better.

Yeah. because some people aren't ready for kids and want kids just for the sake of having kids.
someone should make sure that the soon-to-be-parents are ready for kid, so the kid wouldn't die of starvation or something.
