You should never feel as if you "have" to impress anyone. You should always just be yourself - if that impresses people, then it is because of who you are, not who you pretend to be.

Why do you feel that you have to impress people? You don't have to impress anyone. Be yourself... if you're a good person... if you have qualities.. then people will be impressed without you having to even try. Oftentimes, when you try to impress people, you are trying to be somebody you're not.. or something you're not.. and it will come out in the end and then everything you think you've gained from trying to impress somebody will be lost and that's worse than not impressing somebody from the get-go.
Just be the person you are... the best that you can be... and be natural and honest... that's impressive enough.

That's not wrong at all.
It's perfectly healthy to want people to like you and respect you. But when you have to compromise your own morals and integrity to get those people to like you, they're not even worth your time. It's just easier if you let people accept you for who you are instead of trying to impress them, because then you never have to try to remember who you're trying to be depending on who you're around.

No, it means that your image is not so wrapped up in other people's perceptions of you that you have a driving need to conform to who they think you should be. Be you, everyone else be d*mned!
Am I the only one who read this questioion with out the word "not" in it, and had to edit my answer???

It isn't wrong if you don't want to be yourself.But if you want to be who you are,don't try to impress them,you may surprise yourself and find they like you for who you are.

HELL YEAH! I NEVER FEEL THAT WAY.
YOU JUST HAVE TO BE YOU AND NOT WORRY ABOUT OTHER PEOPLE.
BELIVE ME, PEOPLE IN GENERAL ARE FLAKY, THEY HAVE NO COMMON SENSE AND WORST, NO MORALS.

For society, yes, people have certain expectations, one should dress a certain way and act a certain way.

we should not have to impress anyone...be who you are...if they like you, they like you ...and if they dont ...they dont...however...one day you WILL want to impress someone...just dont go overboard and lead that person to believe that you are someone who you really are not.

absolutely not, you go girl! it means that you are confident in yourself and that you don't care at all what anyone thinks of you. You are a rare breed, and I wish I had that confidence.
