leyland cypres trees are wonderful as privacy trees. They grow on average 3-5 feet a year. They are evergreen and drought resistant once they are established. Wonderful trees. I have 8 running accross my back property line and my parents have their entire back yard surrounded by their trees. Mom and dads are at least 30 feet tall and they grew so fast. Thy range in price accoring to the size you buy. I live in GA and I bought 1 gallon trees for $6.00 each

Then choose a shrub or tree if you like, but talk with a nurseryman to choose a shrub or tree that will give you the kind of width or expanse, and for the amount of shade or sun spot you have in mind, to accomplish your goal.

Bamboo is a very fast growing screening plant and it looks exotic too. The main thing is to make sure you plant it in a contained manner because it will spread. A good nursery will help you with the proper planting method.

MIght try dutch elms. You'll want to plant them rather close together, and take off that damned fishing line they use to hold the branches together. Makes them look unnatural, and they spread less. A little growth will get it looking quite fine without that nonesense.

how long ar you willing to wait. as trees take five to ten years b4 they are large enough to do much good. even transplanting a large tree will take a few years to re-adjust and grow plus a bigger transplant has a higher risk of failure.
