As long as the writers can maintain a supenseful and entertaining storyline. It could last forever.

Nearly all JJ Abrams TV shows are great the first year, so-so the second year & fizzle out by year four. I don't see any reason why LOST will be different -- except that the second year of LOST was a lot better than the second year of FELICITY or ALIAS -- so maybe it will last five years.

6 or 7 is what they say. I've heard they have contracts for at least 3 more seasons. Hopefully it lasts till the story is finished.

I think 3. What can so many people do on 1 island. I think they would start getting on each others nerves. Gilligan's island lasted 3 seasons, 98 episodes.

I think it will last about half a season longer than it should.

I figure it will last until they find themselves. Which could be a while. Many people go through their whole life Lost.

As long as they keep the same writers they can keep an audience.
But they'll lose me if it gets too far into sci-fi and away from people actually stranded, as it started out to be.

dont get me wrong, i absolutely love this show. however, looking at the creator's other shows (e.g, alias) i forsee it fizzling out in around 3 seasons.
and i bet we will be left with many questions unfortunately.
