I have suffered with migraines for years. This is what I usually do. Take two excedrin, then get an ice pack and put it on my neck, top of my head ... rotate back and forth. I drink peppermint hot tea, I have my husband rub my head very hard and also the bumps at the back of your head, neck. Sometimes a very hot bath helps. Turn off all lights or go into a very dark room. Have everyone be quiet. Turn off the tv, radio or anything else. Try to sleep. My migraines are caused by hormone imbalance. Try to get to the root of yours. It can really help.

SEE YOUR DOCTOR! If your doctor says everything is okay and you are suffering from tension headaches, ask for a prescription to see a massage therapist. Check out the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork website for massage therapists in your area (www.ncbtmb.com). Massage Therapists are trained to help you with muscle tension, and trigger points that may be causing your headaches.
For migraines try this: fill a small tub(like a dish tub) with moderately hot water(be careful not to burn yourself, it should not be so hot it hurts) to soak your feet in. Apply a cold washrag (or an ice bag with a folded cloth between it and and your skin) to the back of your neck or forehead. Do this while relaxing in a dark room. It usually helps. Refill the tub with hot water and refresh the cold washrag as needed. Best of Luck!

Put your hands or feet in the hottest water that you can stand, like when you do dishes, it draws the blood out of your head and to the point where you have hot. Blood is sometimes the reason your head hurts so bad. I also use Aleve and a sinus pill follow that with coffee and a little chocolate.

Nutritional:
400 mg of magnesium per day for one week, then 800 mg for one week, then reduce back to 400 mg/day on regular basis. If you get diarrhea on 800 mg, cut back to 400mg immediately.

Great book is "Magnesium, the miracle cure" - get it.

Physical:
Get a good chiropractic evaluation and treatment. I haven't yet had a patient I couldn't help with magnesium and manipulation of the cervical spine.

Good luck.

Caffeine can help, aspirin, ice pack, relax in a cool, dark room, get your eyeglasses checked, massage and last but not least pinch the skin between your thumb and forefinger...I guess that is accupressure. I've tried it, it works but not for long periods of time...just long enough to get you through until you find aspirin or another pain reliever.

Hi. I'm not a doctor, but a head ace is the body external symptom of something else. Anexity, stress, ... if it's current, please check out yourself. Try tylenol or something like that, but then consult your physician or nathhuropat.... hope this helps.

God Bless

wet a washrag with white vinegar in hot water and wring it out and place it on your forehead. Lay down in a quiet and darkened room. This is excellent for a headache
