Just clicking "forward" or highlighting a selection to be forwarded results in messages to my friends that are text only, no cartoons or photos sent along. Where's the fun in THAT? I'm sure there is simply a box somewhere that needs to be checked. Where is it? THANKS

The answer depends on which email software/service you are using. Look for an "Options" or "Preferences" or some such title tab, and look for something about Forwarding or Attachments.
Another possibility is that your internet service provider is restricting forwarding of attachments because of size or anti-spam reasons. Check with them too.

Well, to send an e-mail with a picture, you have to pick a picture that you have, right click on it, press "copy", go to your e-mail, right click, and press "paste".
