"World" Cup after "World" Cup, we park our disappoint about the conduct of the tournament organisers and hope that we wont have to repeat the demand for equality for all teams at the next tournament. But unfortunately, NO!
If FIFA cannot guarantee a FAIR "World" Cup (through the conduct of its officials on the field of play, at least) for all countries,
and I mean all countries; irrespective of their status in the political divide: 1st World - 3rd World or Donor - Reciepient, then FIFA should rethink the name of the tournament and its participants.
I wont be surprised if this trend results in boycott of the tournament in the future by some powerful victim.
A case in point is the fate of the Ivory Coast team in Group C.
I invite comments from any one interested in this issue.

My wife tries to make the world cup a struggle of class against class (I thought that was a political struggle, not a sports struggle). But she doesn't complain when her country wins (Brazil, not exactly a rich one). So it seems a bit hypocritical. I didn't see the Ivory Coast match, but from what I've seen in the past, African teams play rougher among themselves than non-African teams do and so when they have to play outside of Africa they get called for more fouls.

I saw the match between Ivory Coast and Holland. There were a few questionable calls. However, I would put Ivory Coast at the bottom of the list of teams complaining, Ukraine should be first on the penalty and ejection of their player.

There is no way, a national team will boycott a World Cup. Too much money for the teams participating.
