Tried the solutions at the Creative site; alas, to no avail.

make sure that you have Service Pack 2 installed and also try unplugging all other USB then reboot and see if it recognizes upon rebooting. I suspect that it might be conflicting with another USB device though.

It should just recognize it on the spot. I have a Creative Muvo player, and it automatically shows up as 'removable disk' when I plug it into the computer and go to 'my computer'. Maybe you have a bad USB cord. I don't think you would need to download any drivers. Other than that, I'm not sure what the solution is.

Try connecting the USB cable with the player on. Was there a driver that came with the player?
