I know going in that the typical response from people who favor murdering babies will be something along the lines of "rape" or "incest" or "health of the mother" so save it.

Of the TENS OF MILLIONS of babies murdered by abortion there can't be that many fitting into those groups. The vast majority of abortions are because the woman was too goddamn lazy to use birth control with one of the, what I'm sure would be, coutless men she had sex with that month.

Wouldn't it be more convenient to just use the birth control? Do they have cool prizes or an open bar at Planned Parenthood or something? I'm just not understanding the attraction to going there.

Can you explain it to me?

An answer to all these RIDICULOUS "when the birth control fails" comments ... Yes, if the birth control fails you should have the baby and take care of it. It doesn't matter if you never wanted to have children. NEWS FLASH ... pregnancy is a consequence of having sex. If you'd rather not have children you should get steralized or not have sex.

If you cause a car accident you can't give up your car and make it all go away, you have to take responsibility for the consequence of the accident.

You got pregnant because you didn't want to prevent it from happening and couldn't control yourself sexually. Deal with it.

Good point. Here's my two cents:

- Rape happens; many of us can't stop that from happening.
- Health matters; I'm on the fence with this response.

**But women wanting to kill off their own offsprings because they:

- can't support a child financially
- got boned by her ex and refuses to keep the baby
- wanted to have sex, but didn't use birth control, and doesn't want a kid....

these women should be DENIED TREATMENT.

Why? Because their idiots for not keeping their legs closed and not using protection.

Honestly, these women shouldn't have kids AT ALL. They don't show any signs of responsibility to raise any child.

**To the women who I want to deny abortions to:

I refuse to apologize, so go f*** yourselves (literally)

The religious right that is wanting to ban abortion is also against any form of birth control. Condoms, the pill, even "pulling out" is considered a sin. They feel that sex is only for procreation. Could you imagine how overcrowded we would be if we did not use birth control?
The pro choice crowd is not saying that ALL abortions today are because of rape, incest, or the health of the mother. They feel that those are the only times that abortion should be legal. If some girl is having sex with every man she can find and she accidentally gets pregnant, then she is wrong to get an abortion. Adoption should be their option and carrying that baby for 9 months and having to give it up would be their punishment. But if some guy with HIV rapes a 14 year old girl and gets her pregnant, she should be able to have that option to keep that poor baby from suffering with a disease. How dare anyone call her a murderer because of something that some jerk did to her. It was not her fault.
I understand the religious feelings on this subject, that's why I'm semi-neutral...more pro choice...but I believe that the laws should be changed a bit to regulate abortions. I have pro life friends that understand my views as I understand them, too. I don't expect them to change their ideals, but I would ask them to at least consider those who may be affected if abortions were outlawed. Suicide could take a jump amongst teens, infant death could rise, neglect, abuse...these are all things that can stem from outlawing abortion.
They are not too stupid to understand birth control. Most pro choicers us it. But even then, the pro lifers look down on them. It's a lose-lose situation.

Condoms break and birth control fails. Accidents happen. Just because YOU think abortion is murder doesn't mean that it is.

Maybe instead of worrying about what goes on in other peoples bodies you should worry about children that have actually been born.

How come conservatives will do anything for the unborn but once you're born you're on your own?

A womans body is her own buisness, plain and simple. Worry about your own accidents and if you really care about millions of babies encourage the government to spend more money on education and day care and head start programs.

If republicans were really the party of small government then they'd stay out of peoples bedrooms and doctors offices.

NEWS FLASH....
Despite what conservatives want to believe we live in the 21st century and sometimes taking responsbility for your actions means having an abortion.

The issue of Pro-Choice v. Pro-Life isn't restricted to the United States. You have to look outside the box. Not everyone in this world has access to birth control. Not everyone on this planet has access to "Planned Parenthood".

China has over 1.3 billion people living there, and a communist government.

Africa has an exploding teen pregancy and HIV crisis.

What the United States does is often seen as a precedent for the rest of the world.

In countries where options such as birth control aren't as available as they are in the United States, abortion is often performed, and it's often performed by the mother herself.

Yes, there are efforts to teach and educate, but abortion will continue whether you like it or not. The issue is to provide a safer environment so that those who choose to abort may do so without further damage or suffering.

Yes, abortion is MURDER. But so is eating a hamburger. So is killing in the name of war. Do not forget the Catholic Church, so against abortion, was part of the Spanish Inquisition.

Murder is another word for death. Sometimes death is neccessary. Sometimes it's unjust. However, death is inevitable.

Have you ever spoken with someone who has gone through and abortion? It's not as though she "just threw her baby away". There is emotional pain to deal with. She would have pain and suffering no matter what she chose.

Think outside the box, and try not to accuse people as "stupid" when you cannot speak for every person's experience. It only reveals your own ignorance.

Just a few points:

1. In 2002 (latest data) 3.5% of abortions were on those under 15 and 6.2% were on those 15 years old, meaning that 9.7% of all abortions were on people were clearly too young to consent to sex, safely give birth, or ably care for a child.

2. In 2000-2001 54% of those getting an abortion stated that they were using birth control during the month they got pregnant.

3. In 2004, a combined 25% of abortions were due to at least one of rape, incest, possible harm to mother, or possible harm to fetus. 73% were due in part to not being able to afford the child.

4. 90% of those at risk for pregnancy are actively using a form of birth control.

5. Schools typically do not instruct students on birth control use until high school, usually senior year, if at all. Many teach only abstinence.

I in no way condone the murder of babies, and to my knowledge, an abortion is not the murder of a baby. Pro-lifers always argue as if that "baby" could survive outside of the womb, all on it's own, like an actual baby does. It can not because it is NOT a baby. I'm not sure if you are aware of this or not, but besides abstinence (which seems to be the only form of sexual education that the current regime supports), there is no 100% effective birth control method, so your argument about dumb, slutty girls being too lazy to put a condom on their partner is moot. Also, you might like to know that it takes a woman AND a man to create a zygote in the womb, so, again, your argument to blame only the girls is moot. The government has no right to tell me what to do with my body, nor do they have the right to tell men what to do with theirs. If you want to make abortion illegal, if you want to control the bodies of women, it would be only fair to impose a required age limit on men for receiving a vasectomy.

Some people have used birth control and it failed. I worked with a woman who on the pill, and got pregnant anyway. Her doctor's response was, "Well, next time we know you need a stronger dose." She never wanted children, never liked them. She tried answering a few of those "desperate to adopt" ads, but since she was not from "good stock" (grew up in an apartment, never went to college so she worked a basic job, etc) nobody wanted her baby. She did not want to end up thousands of dollars in debt for the pregnancy care and birth, so she had an abortion, which was cheaper.

And for those of you yelling the word "abstinence", are you saying even a MARRIED couple should not have sex if they do not want kids?

and when this birth control fail's............ then what?
using abortion as the easy way out, is again not MY thing, but again it IS personal choice.

better to have it legal, than illegal.......... angelina jolie, can't adopt ALL of the un-wanted kid's.

but i am sure, no matter on HOW MANY people reply to this , you are well to far gone mentally to understand reality as it is, not as you would like it.

this is VERY clear, from your statement's - 'The vast majority of abortions are because the woman was too goddamn lazy to use birth control with one of the, what I'm sure would be, coutless men she had sex with that month.'

it only takes ONE TIME for a condom to fail, or the pill not work correctly.

'Wouldn't it be more convenient to just use the birth control? '

like i said, and when it fail's ?????????

And where did you learn about birth control?

If you look at the myriad of questions on here about pregnancy, you'll note that people are woefully uneducated about how to prevent pregnancy. For example, some think that you can't get pregnant the first time. Or that withdrawal will protect them.

When the main objective of standard contraceptive education is abstinence, young people are going to continue to get pregnant.

And I'd love you to cite your sources for your idea that the "vast majority" of abortions are because the woman was lazy, and that she'd slept with countless men.

Grow up.

The concept behind "Pro Choice" is "Personal Freedom." In a free society, a citizen has the right to choose for them self. Whether or not to have an abortion is a personal choice made by a free citizen. Whether or not the fetus is a baby with a soul is a moral question that will probably not be answered with certainty until Judgement Day. In the meantime, as a free citizen, you have the right to believe what you wish. So does the next person.

No. I can't explain anything to a insipid neocon unless it serves his own agenda.

Just for my peace of mind, birth control is not 100%. If there wasn't abortion for you to whine about, then you'd be complaining about how your tax dollars are going to pay for someone else's unwanted child. Just because you have an abortion does not mean that you are promiscuous. It could mean that the birth control failed.

Try to have a good weekend. And maybe get out and see the real world a bit.
