First it was Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, now Brittany Spears may be having her baby in Namibia. Why? I would think American Hospitals would be much better. Is it some kind of celebrity fad?

I think some people feel that American hospitals are just too clean, safe, and sanitary. Boring! It's much more fun to take your pregnant wife to some Godforsaken third world s***hole , where she could contract ebola, or some other horrible & lethal disease during childbirth.
On second thought, I cannot think of a better place for Brittany Spears to spend some time.

It's because like most stars are complete morons. They have everyone to do everything for them, so they don't develop common sense.
A baby in Namibia. Give me a break. What a worthless and stupid thing to do. It's no different then having your baby in the states or britian.

They are able to get a lot more privacy in Namibia. I think the Namibian government prohibits the press.

for a number of reasons, including:
1) Namibia is considered to be a cradle of civilization
2) it offers privacy not found, say, in Los Angeles
3) as an act of chariyy and good will
