Yes you can take him to the doctor and they can do an upper GI. My daughter had it done at 3 month. they drink this stuff called Barium and the doctor watches it go through there system to see if there is any reflux. It is really neat to see the inside of your baby and how the food moved through them. The only down side is the baby has to fast for 6 hours so they will be so hungry they will drink the barium. Good luck hope this helps.

I'm not sure how to tell, but what I would recommend is using Dr Brown's bottles. We use that for our daughter who is almost 9mos old now. The great thing about Dr Brown's is that it has a built in vent so there is no inside pressure build up which can lead to colic. Also, something you can try after feeding him is lying him across your knees on his belly and rubbing his back -- this can be a more effective way of burping.
Feel free to visit my website's forums for other parenting questions...we are just starting so they are a little small right now, but replies typically come pretty quickly. The website is http://www.babyswap.NET

go to the Dr and ask then to take X-rays and give him an upper GI. these test should tell. In the mean time feed your baby Enfamil Nutramagin if he seems colic. That will make him less gassy and for the gas give him some little tummy's.

if your baby truly has those symptoms no special bottle will help. consult with your dr first, my son had it all and went on allimentum formula, then zantac, then prilosec, mylicon will help with the gas, but mainly just time he finally grew out of it around 4-5 months.

maybe you shouldn't use bottle furmula just yet....he might have colic...intolerance to milk products...breastfeeding is always the best bet for the first couple of months...then you can gently wean him to the formula

It sounds like a dairy allergy. There are other possibilities, but dairy allergy is the most likely if the formula is dairy. Otherwise, it's probably a soy allergy...
