The entire football field is 120yd long and 160 feet wide
120yds = 36 * 120 = 4320
160 feet = 12 * 160 = 1920
Area of a football field is 8294400 square inches. Multiply that by 700 and you get
ANS : 5806080000 or 5.80608 * 10^9 blades of grass in a football field
However if you are only talking about the 100yds and not the goals, then
100 * 36 = 3600
3600 * 1920 = 6912000
6912000 * 700 = 4838400000
ANS : 4838400000 or 4.8384 * 10^9 blades of grass in a football field

It depends on the size of the football field, which for instance in association football can be anything from 50 x 100 yards to 100 x 130 yards (plus all the areas just outside the touchlines). But essentially all you do is find the area in square inches and multiply by 700
