I do not think that it is right either. I mean, if no one asked questions, there would be no purpose in this site at all. LOL I still ask questions any way b/c you can earn your points back easily. Also, I do not pay any attention to the point system.

I think it's a great idea. I don't think they take enough points away for asking questions.

There are way too many "soft" questions here... questions like "What's your favorate color?" and "Who here likes ?" What's the point of these questions? Fluff! Nobody learns anything new, especially the asker.

I've noticed you ask "good" questions... questions where somebody may actually learn something from the answer. That's great. Keep it up.

And remmber that while it says you lose 5 points for asking a question, you get three back for picking a best answer the next day, so you're really only down 2 points... which you can make up just by answering somebody else's question. So in the end, it's a wash.

Yahoo awards 2 points for answering a question.

Yahoo charges five points for asking a question.

The question is asked and answered, and Yahoo gets to keep the extra three points as profit.

They are building a hefty portfolio of points, man. Don't stand in the way of progress.

i'm just amazed at how stupid the questions are and also how much lamer the answers are. most people just type a yes or no or whatever and then move on, with no real effort but to just get an answer and their 2 points.

they should also deduct a point if someone gives a dumb or pointless answer. then again, who cares. yahoo points! moohaha. whatever, right? we're just here cause it's fun.

I like it the way it is.There are too many stupid questions already. If the point system discourages a few of them then it's a good thing. Besides the stupid people can give three stupid answers and come out ahead.

The system appears to be working just fine. It's not hard to make up five points - just answer two questions and rate a best answer or something. I think it's fine.

I think it's probably a good idea, keeps people from asking the same question over and over and it will keep people from bombarding the system with questions.

I help giving us the flexibility to price questions thumbs up or down. yet could there be a penalty for asking dumb questions? Nah. only affirming that that's a dumb question should be adequate.

I don't. It prevents a large number of people from asking really stupid questions.
