I have been experiencing all the 'textbook' signs of pregnancy, and after I was a week and a half overdue for my period (i'm VERY VERY VERY regular and not stressed or on any meds), i went to the doc. She said that it would be too early to tell by blood work or urine, so she ordered a ultra sound. The radiologist saw something on the ultrasound, so they made me have a vaginal unltra sound. When the doc got the results back, she said I only have a hemorage in my uterus (which Ive always thought that was a bad thing), which would only cause slight discomfort and I didnt need to follow up on it. But she said it wouldnt be causing everything else. My problem is, my doc is a COMPLETE quack (she let a little boy die of a spider bite not too long ago), and its gonna take a little while to get another gyno b/c of new paitent waiting lists. Should I go to another doc to find out what's going on, just for a second opinion?? I have had precancerous cells removed not too long ago so Im worried..

To whoever said I didnt get treated, I stated I had precancerious cells REMOVED. And she DID let the little boy die. She sent him home saying it was only a misquito bite, and his grandmother rushed him to the ER later that night, where he DID DIE. I know the family. And she IS a ob/gyn as well as a family doctor.

Sounds like you aren't a very good advocate for your own care! First, let's start with the boy with the spider bite. Sounds like this boy got bit by a brown recluse so the doctor didn't "let him die". This is one nasty spider and a bite not treated fast enough is fatal.

Now, that said, if you are seeing a doctor who treated a spider bite, this is not an ob/gyn. If you suspect pregnancy, you should be seeing an obstetrician/gynecologist. Also, why haven't you taken an OTC pregnancy test? You need to take some responsibility for your own body!

Make an appointment with an ob/gyn. You can ask the office if they can order a pregnancy test for you since you already have your appointment scheduled and they will probably do so. Also, go buy an OTC, follow the directions exactly and, if you are pregnant, it should be positive as you are "late" enough. Wow, I can't understand why your doctor would think that it is too early for a pregnancy test when you are already missing your period for over a week. The doctor is definitely not a good one, so go get in the waiting list of another doctor right now. Then buy a home pregnancy test and take it. See if you are indeed pregnant. Knowing that your current doctor is not very good, she could have easily misdiagnosed you when she did the ultrasound - I won't rely on her findings. So as soon as you can get in another appointment from a different (and hopefully more reliable) doctor, get some blood work done just to make sure. If it is indeed a hemorrhage in the uterus, make sure you tell your new doctor that you had precancerous cells removed previously.

Goodluck to you!

YES YES YES...do NOT go back to that woman. If you're a week and a half overdue, then you can definitely take a home pregnancy test (a urine test) and contrary to what Dr. Quack says, it is most certianly NOT too early for a blood test. You don't have to go to an OB/GYN for a pregnancy test...go to your regular general practitioner...they can just as easily do a pregnancy test/blood work there. If there truly is something wrong, maybe that doctor can pull some strings and get you in to a new OB sooner.

Uhhh Yeah. If you're worried and you don't feel your doctor could've given you all the answers you were looking for, you should definately get a second opinion. And If I'm not mistaken a hemorage is a bleed. are you bleeding? If you're a week late with your period it is not too early to take a pg test. I took a test 1 day after my missed period and got a positive reading for pregnancy. Take a home pregnancy test and maybe see about finding another doctor.

a week and a half late on your period is plenty of time for a pregnancy test! You should get a home pregnancy test to be sure. Otherwise, sometime tumors in the uterus have been known to cause pregnancy symptoms because they release HcG (the pregnancy hormone) as well... Women sometime just experience irregularities in their cycle for no reason at all. If you have prior conditions, I would recommend going to another doctor asap. Not to be alarmist, but the sooner you find out, the less stressed you'll be and if there ARE any problems, you can get them fixed before your reproductive health and general health suffer.

OH MY GOD...never go to that doctor again...if you know she's a whacko...don't let her touch you. You may be able to bypass these waiting lists if you explain all this to the doctor you want to see...you very well may need medical attention. And yes, for sure, she is a quack because there are over the counter pregnancy tests that can tell you if your pregnant a WEEK BEFORE YOU"RE LATE...that's how I found out I was pregnant...so don't listen to her...she's an idiot...go seek medical attention immediately...and it wouldn't hurt to pee on a stick while you're at it...if you are pregnant...that would definately speed up the process with the doctors...

YES, go some where else to get another opinion. I went to the doctor b/c my stomach hurt and they did an ultra sound and there was nothing and about 3 weeks later I found out that i was prego. So I could be that you are prego and it is so small that they can't really tell what it is. Good luck!

Try getting into the nurse practitioner at another Ob-Gyn. Their lists are generally shorter or tell them it's an emergency. If you don't trust your doctor, you should get a new one.

Hemmoraging isn't good, but you can ride it out, depending on your situation. I'd find another doc.

Go to the ER, or take a home pregnancy test!
Sounds like a messed up doctor! Butyou defineltly need a new doctor! You need to be 100% satisfied with your doctor esp if you are pregnant!
You'll be ok!
God Bless!

You should probably go to the er and tell them you are not feeling good. Have you bought a home pregnancy test? I dont think i would even like to consider saying the doctors name and claim that she is my doctor, if she let a lil boy die i would be embarrased to go to her or him. You need to check yourself out.
