I think that most sexually acts against children should fall into this category.

Here in lies the delimma.......what IS the sex OF that sex offender?? In these times..I see a growing percentage of sex offenders being female....should this law also mean death to females as well??

Double-standards dont work in a democracy.

No..I think its an illness..and unless you want to start killing Downs Syndrome folks...retarded folks....and other mentally challenged folks..then no...I say it is wrong to fault a subconcious illness. What next...death to all Sickle cell patients?? The disease IS transferrable from mother to child ya know??

I don't! Though I think Fixated pedophiles should never get out of jail!

Most sexual acts against children are by a parent, step-parent or family member. When discovered, most take the side of the perpetrator, not the child.

Actually, the lightest sentences for almost any felony is to those who sexually assault children!

My state does have a 3 strike rule where the 3rd conviction you get life. Unfortunately, most fixated pedophiles have had 50 or 60 victims by then!

And no, the fact they have a death sentence on the books will deter no one. A fixated pedophiles sexual orientation is to children. That's why they don't change.

Be honest, if you are a heterosexual and there was a death penalty on the books, would you never have intercourse again???

The Oklahoma measure makes people found guilty of rape and other sex crimes more than once against children younger than 14 eligible for the death penalty.
I believe this is fair punishment!! I wish all states would enact a similar law.

Oklahoma is going to be the first state in the country without a single sex offender.

Unfortunately, the death penalty is the only effective way to prevent sex offenders from repeating their crimes. Most convicted rapists, child molesters, etc., are proven to continue in their behavior no matter how many times they get caught.

I'd like to say that I oppose this legislature, but at best I'm indifferent to whether it exists or not.

Statutory rape in most cases shold not require listing as sex ofense. But any crime against children, or violent crime against adults or chidren, indicates a person who is not rehabitable. Any second offense should mean life sentence; especially violent or disturbing sex offenses should result in the death penalty because these people ARE NOT FIXABLE.

oooRAH

Good, f*ck em. I believe it requires a second offense for rape/molestation involving a child under age 11.

The argument against says it will kill children because if the guy is facing the DP anyway what's to stop him from killing the child. But I say most of these guys aren't that smart and they should be exterminated.

Thank God. Now lets see them start enforcing it and other states to do the same. I've heard what chemical castration and stuff does to some sex offenders, and all it does is make them come up with more creative ways to molest people.

Well with any luck at all they will surpass Texas as the killer state. Good way to get rid of the poor and the blacks is the death penalty. If you kill one it is one less on the planet.

I think sex offenders should think long and hard before commiting sex crimes in Oklahoma.
