I figured out how to get my music back on to my pc but only found one long, complicated way to get the music back into i-tunes.

You're kinda screwed. Try burning DVDs and importing.

Too bad!! Since iTunes is built not to transfer songs from ipod to itunes, you are forced to save your songs on your pc as DATA.
Then you can open them with iTunes. If you have a lot of songs, then it will take a while, unless you have a lightning fast firewire
and superspeedy processor.

officially, you can't. that's how it was designed, to prevent people from copying their ipod to everyone else's computer!

but according to unnamed sources (and i don't mean me cause i've never done this) you should be able to google for an answer on how to do this off the record.

that's what i've heard on the street

Google "copy from ipod" or "restore from ipod" and you will find many solutions to this common problem. One of them was :
