They all have different prices. Yahoo Shopping is a section where you can advertise products with images of your product - the links take the person to your site - it is a pay per click deal, so you would determine how much you want to spend. Froogle is free, you just have to register and upload your catalog (there are different ways, register and they'll walk you through it. eBay has a merchant area, they are a little costly and depending on what you sell, may not be the best option. You may want to look into a merchant support company such as mercent, monsoon etc... Google AdWords is pretty cool too, that is a pay per click option, it requires daily maintenance but can be a huge success. All of these can be anywhere from $250 - $10,000 or free in the case of a few. Search Engine Optimization works best, but that requires a team of people.

Yahoo and Google are search engines, and people will find you by doing searches for your product. You need a web site that has been indexed by Google or Yahoo so that they can link to you.

For example, if you sell ladders, someone would have to type "ladders" into Google, and your company's web site (hopefully) will show up in the top ten listings.

The competition may be very fierce in your category, and there's no guarantee you will show up in the top listings in Google or Yahoo. You will need a "Search Engine Optimized" web site (but watch out - SEO is a real speciality, and most people don't know what they are doing).

EBay is a whole different thing. You can set up a "shop" on EBay, list your products, and people will bid on them (auction) or buy them straight out. For more info, start here: http://pages.ebay.com/sellercentral/newsellers.html

For Yahoo and Google, getting indexed and showing up in the "organic" listings is free, but there are also paid listings; the fees can vary a lot, depending on the keywords you are bidding on. The main cost is in setting up an optimized web site. EBay's fees are here: http://pages.ebay.com/help/sell/fees.html

Hope this helps!

Prices depend on where you want to andertise, if you wnat to show your company when somewant searches for a speciffic word you'll have to pay for that word. You can use combiantions of words also, but it's expensive. You can also pay for banners on site, but only on YAhoo! or altavista.

I don't handle that part of our business. But I've often heard accounting complain about how ridiculously expensive Google in particular is.
