Oh, that's the American way, the bigger companys eat up the little or mismanaged companys.

I bet it's just locally for you. I haven't heard of any kind of nation-wide deal for them. Once in a while someone who owns a bunch of gas stations will decide to switch them over. I hated the fact that BP took over Amoco Standard anyway, so good ridance.
