OK we are actually connecting from the office to our own domain name which we have full access rights to through POP3 and SMTP .

What email server are you using?

Gmail? Hotmail?

Let me know on details and I can give you exact setup.
If youre talking about trying to set up the pop and smtp for a work email, then that might not be possible. They usually use an internal server that you can only access through their network. It wont allow you to set it up at home.

If youre talking about a public site like hotmail or gmail, then the configuration is easy.

can you give some more details, as internal is a doddle, but for other mails to work u need to point to a dns server (kinda like a yellow pages of compter names) so they can be delivered.

eg bob in your office sends a message to a yahoo user, so the mail leaves bobs comp, goes to your exchange server, from there it needs to go to a dns server, and goes yahoo.com and the passes the message to yahoo. same works the other way, goes to a dns and works out your domain name and goes to the exchange server.

there was a 2 part tutioal in the past couple of issues of personal computer world, ill see if i can find them. mail me and let me know if you want them as i wont look otheriwse

i found the mag and i have scanned it in check your yahoo inbox
