I want you to consider 2 instances,
The way Titans treated Mcnair and the way chargers traded away Brees because he tried to make a play in the last game of the season and got injured. Chargers used this as an excuse to trade him.

If NFL Organizations are not faithful to their players why should the players be faithful to their organizations.

So keeping this in mind. Did TO do the right thing in SFO and Philly?

You betcha. I'm an Eagles fan. I'm a T. O. fan.

T.O. was a known quantity when he came to Philadelphia. He delivered what he was contracted to do. He performed well & he got screwed over, in my opinion.

I think he was right about Jeff Garcia & I think he's right about Mc5, although it pains me to admit it after all this time. As an Eagles fan, I now get to watch Mc5 backed up by Garcia while T.O. moves his talent and personality to play for the Tuna.

A most unfortunate turn of events in the opinion of this fan. I do not presume to speak for other 'Birds fans. They're quite capable of speaking for themselves.

The Chargers didn't trade him. He signed with New Orleans as an unrestricted free agent. The Chargers just used the shoulder injury as an excuse to go with their top pick a few years ago.

But to answer your question. While I don't agree with how TO went about it, I do agree with TO that the players are at a disadvantage.

For example, if a player doesn't perform up to his contract he will probably be released. But if a player out performs his contract the team says "tough luck, it's a contract". So how come the team can tear up a contract if a player isn't doing well but a player can't tear his up if he's playing better than expected?

T O does one thing right and that is score....
if he kept his mouth shut he would still be in Philly.
Hell if he kept his mouth shut he would still be in San Francisco....

and has far as Drew Brees it was just a matter of time before Sandy Eggo let him go they did not want him in the first place after they got Rivers.....
his performance is the only reason he stayed as long as he did. they were paying Rivers to much money for him to stay on the bench any longer.....

And Mcnair got screwed pure and simple..
the orginization gave up on him even though he was the best player they had....
but he was injured quite a bit too....

He was wrong is both SF and Philadelphia. He's a cancer and I can't imagine how any team could be so foolish to sign him. He will destroy the Cowboys too. As a Redskins fan, that's fine by me. Jerry Jones and TO deserve each other.

You make excellent points and when putting it that way yes TO did right by being loyal to himself but the problem I have is the way he went about it.
Football ( both American and European ) are team sports and from what i saw there was just too much me,me,me

I am not sure because I never pulled for either team that T.O. has played for until now. I just hope he behaves himself at Dallas. The Cowboys need him.
