I read it in cosmo that some types of birth control lower a girls sex drive... I recently changed my pills, and for the past two months I have had like NO sex drive.. I thought something was wrong with me? Has anyone else had this experience? I am afraid that our sex life is going down the tubes...What can I do to help it and our bond?

I can't find it on the website, but it's on page 204 of the July issue with Brittany Murphy on the cover.

Yes, some BC's can effect your sex drive. If it has only been 2 months, it might be that your body is adjusting to the hormones, and your sex drive will be back soon. It usually takes about 3 cycles for your body to adjust to a new BC pill, because the hormones and dosages are different.
IF NOT, go see your gyne, and talk to her about a different pill that might work better for you. And remember, they effect each individual a little differently.

I would recomend the IUD or also known as Intrauterine Device this has NO chemicals and does not interfer with your own body chemisty, There are a couple of links at the bottom for you. ALSO YaHabibeDisney is wrong you CAN still get pregnant the chances are just less likely is all BUT i have a friend that got pregnant on ALL BC EVEN tuballigation ie steralization. So NOTHING is 100%

I have experienced this evere since I have been on birth control!! I thought it was just me! I also thought something was wrong with me. My sex drive isn't the same and it's more difficult to climax. What I am going to do, and what I suggest you do, is request a prescription with lower hormone dosages. Tell your gyno about the problem and ask his/her suggestion and professional opinion. That's what I fully plan on doing.
PS is this article online at Cosmo's web site where I can read it right now?

it all depends on you, BC pills even out your hormones, so when you want sex, maybe you don't realize it as much, because the hormone levels have evened themselves out through your cycle. Instead of having high and low levels of hormones, they are constantly the same, and this has no effect on your sex drive.

Try switching pills, Jasmin is a new one and the new Orthotricycline-Lo are both ones that are supposed to have a lower sexual drive interaction.

I am on B/C and I have a high sex drive. It all depends on the dosage.
