I have six children and I see a progressive need for etiquette. Today children abuse their parents, mock them openly, curse them in public, and they have no idea how to behave anywhere. I want to make people aware of the importance for etiquette. Is this book going to sell?

what they need is a book on parenting!! people seem to give birth to them and then let them run like wild things and then can't imagine what happened when they start behaving like animals...i think most of what is lacking there is common sense and you can't learn that in a book. its a wonderful idea and i wish you all the best but think about it...if you need to read a book to know you should teach your children to be polite and considerate of other people and say please and thank you, what do you think the chances are that they'll read it anyway? make it sorta like a childrens book with pictures and BIG LETTERS, make the first page something like YOU ARE THE PARENT....THE CHILD IS THE CHILD..WHAT YOU SAY GOES...THE END! I definitely congratulate you on recognizing the problem, being a better mom than that yourself and wanting and trying to do something about it!!! good luck!

I certainly would hope so!! There is such a lack of manners among people today. I think it is because nobody took the time to teach them. I imagine with both parents working, it is sometimes difficult to do so. Small things like how to set a table and how to place and then use the eating utensils are unknown by most young people. Or even common manners like standing when a lady leaves or returns to a table or excusing oneself when walking in front of someone are both almost lost practices. A good book would be informative and, I think ,would sell. Go for it! I'll buy the first copy!!

Good luck!!

Let's just say that I'll be the first person to buy the book for the future reference :)

It will most definetely sell and you might need to get a lot more copies published too, because of the importance of it, it will be sold out in the bookstores whithin the first week :) You have a perfect idea for the your future book.

Would you please tell us what the title is going to be and your name so that way the majority of us here will be able to get it as soon as it will be published? Thank you! :)

I think it would sell very well.I think we Americans will buy almost anything. The big problem is getting the people who buy the book to actually read the book and even more importantly,to utilize any helpful input to have.People are just lazy and would rather have the job of manners and responsibility taught to their children by teachers in the school systems.Good Luck.

YOU WOULD BE BEATING A DEAD HORSE. TODAY'S KIDS KNOW THAT PARENTS CANNOT DISCIPLINE THEM. WITHOUT DISCIPLINE YOU WILL HAVE CHILDREN MOCKING THEIR PARENTS, CURSING THEM AND ALL AROUND "DISNG" THEM.
THE BLAME FOR THIS FALLS WITH THE ADULT WORLD. SO M ANY PEOLPLE HAVE TAKEN THE STANCE OF WHAT IS TO BE CONSIDERED CHILD ABUSE AND WHAT IS TOO MUCH THAT WE NOW HAVE NONE.
UNTIL SUCH TIME THAT THE PARENTS ARE ALLOWED TO BEAT A CHILDS *** WHEN THEY ACT UP WITH OUT BEING TOLD THEY ARE ABUSING THE BRAT OR WORSE YET HAVE THE KID TAKEN AWAY FROM THEM FOR BEING ABUSIVE BECAUSE THEY SPANKED THE BRAT THEN WE ARE GOING TO HAVE CHILDREN THAT DON'T OR WON'T BEHAVE LIKE LADIES AND GENTLEMEN IN PUBLIC.

I would support the book as I understand the importance.
However, in our "feel good" society today, nobody cares about etiquette anymore. It's all about being everybody's friend and feeling good about ourselves.
After all, shouldn't we all just smoke a joint and get along with everybody else?

Yes, that thought sickens me as well.

You can, but I doubt it would sell well, because people are reading less and less, and just because there is a book out there doesn't mean it is going to change anything. After all, the bible has been there for over 1000 years and people still murder, cheat on their spouses, and lie.

I would buy it. I like to read about the opinions of other people. I use some etiquette, but not every little thing.
