Gas prices here in the US have "caused" us to move from one state to another. We have grandchildren in another state who we used to drive and see once a month. It was a six hour drive one way. Both of the parents work and we did not want to ask them to drive up to see us. We always believed that living right next to grown adult children is NOT always a good thing and we loved where we lived. As the gas prices kept get getting higher and higher the trips were becoming every other month and then after we went 4 months without seeing them - we just decided to move.
We now live about 1 hour away from them in a nearby town. We see the kids about twice a month - which is great!!! The parents are close enough to come up and drop them off on a Friday night and we take them back Sunday evening. It gives the parents some time to themselves which they think is great.
And so do we. :-)
We also cut down on shopping, etc. We just go once a week to the stores after the sale flyers come out in the newspaper and to church on Sunday. We also moved from the country in the mountains to living closer to city.

No I still have to work to pay the bills.. etc
I still have to do errands but plan route and priority so to to avoid unnecessary driving
I drive a little slower with slower starts from the red light
I look on line for cheap gas prices
but.. I still take long distance trips via car so No I dont believe I have cut back on miles driven

Unfortunately, yes it has. While some might say that $2.77 is actually cheap, it isn't to my family. We have cut back from just aimlessly driving around, doing nothing. I can't go see my boyfriend as often because he lives 15 minutes from me, and because I have to get on the interstate, it takes up a lot of gas. But yea, thank goodness beer is cheaper!

My husband has started working from home. My parents live 300 miles away and his parents live about 60 miles away and we no longer visit them as often as we used to.
I also try to run all of my errands on the way home from work to try to minimize mileage.
I don't have concrete numbers on how much we have reduced but I do think it was significant.
