Dont think its the fuel cap. Any one can help ?

I recently underwent some maintenance for the car.
I changed air filter, spark plugs and sparks wirings.

Could any mishandling while performing the maintenance be the cause of the problems. Someone told me that spark plugs might not be well adjusted. Other told me injectors are defective.

Any other opinions ?

P0440 is a small leak in the fuel system. Not neccesarily fuel, but more likely the system isnt sealed. You can try the cap,but if you have high fuel consumption I doubt its the cap.Check where cap seats for damage or rust.Check the fuel filler neck real good, they rust at the bottom and leak.Check the lines to the charcoal cannister which is at the very back passenger side of car.Make sure they are all on secure andcheck the cannister itself for cracks or damage.

You can check the fuel lines at the engine and vacumn lines. If you smell fuel in the car you can check the fuel senders, but this takes a little work and mechanic ability. Under the rear cargo area, just behind rear seat is 2 access doors, remove the screws and lift the doors off.Look around and see if there are signs of mice(they like to chew wires and hoses),look for fuel leakage around the top of the tank. Those are the most common things w/o getting into the electrical switches that go along with that system. Good luck

6/17 you may have knocked vacumn line off by air cleaner or passenger front strut area. 1 vacumn line in particular goes to the Cannister purge solenoid, that would cause the P0440.I dont see how the plug gap or wires could cause that code. They would cause a P0301-P0304 misfire codes. How is the car running?

Sounds like a leak in the fuel line.
