Love is blind means that when you are in love you don't see everything for what it really is. You tend to ignore signs that the person you are with is wrong for you, ugly, possibly a criminal or deviant, poor, a jerk, etc. The saying really should be "Love makes you blind."

Different translations of the bible would suggest love and charity are synonmus. Examples found in.1st Corrinthians ch. 13 vs. 1-17 illustrate this many times. I would enjoy hearing from a scholar of the languages used in those past times to clarify my understanding. The story of the "World's Poorest Philanthropist", Gilbert "Harold" Ewing II (myself) is the reason for this querry. The " act of grace", or charity, reffered to in the news interview, has posited this question and I lack the sort of education to provide any insights of true value.

It means that sometimes when you are in love you are blind or oblivious to reality. For instance, your new love may not treat you the best way he/she should but since you're in "love" you look over the important issues and are too wrapped up in their appearance or their cunning words to realize the serious problems in the relationship.
