A Fender Strat or Gibson Les Paul?

It's a matter of personal preference. I own 2 Fender electrics because the neck is thinner and easier for me to play (I have carpal tunnel). Quality-wise, there is little difference between a top-of-the-line Gibson and a top-of-the-line Fender.

A good question, but open it up!

It really depends on the player
I prefer the Strat over the Paul because it LIGHTER!

I like playing for an hour or two and the Paul gets heavy!!
I like Paul 'cause the notes sound fuller, the fixed bridge, it let's more harmonics ring out over the strats whammy bridge
That being said the Telecaster is a hoot because it SO SOLID, its like a belt buckle
And don't rule out Paul Reed Smiths
or Rickenbachers!!
And for stunt guitar an Ibanez with a Floyd Rose and a Marshall amp is a scream!
Now Amplifiers, there is a whole other subject!!!

Get the Strat now, start saving for the Les Paul, by the time you have enough money together, you should be able to play pretty good

Gibson Les Paul is the chioce of top musicians for years, with the exception of Eric Clapton, who played the ES-335 and sometimes the Fender Strat. Jimmy Page, Joe Walsh, Mark Knopfler, Neil Young, Joe Perry, Steve Miller, Ace Frehley, Slash, Zakk Wylde are just some of those who play the Les Paul.
