You can't tell someone you like it without the whole school working. It's how small communities work.
Boys like different things about girls.
Be yourself and you'll probably get some boy to like you eventually.

I've done this many times.
I've said something along the lines of "[Name here], I've got a secret to tell, but you can't tell anybody, I'm not even sure if I want to tell you... but you have a right to know" then he usually says "shoot" or "ok, go ahead" or "ok, I promise" and then I say something along the lines of "Over the past [amount of time] I've really started to like you as more than a friend, I know it probably doesn't mean much to you, but I thought you should know. And, don't tell anybody please, I don't want everybody to know."
And, if he tells people, it's not a big deal... everybody has a crush! People may talk about it, but then somehting new will be there to talk about and they'll totally forget about your crush. And just be yourself, if guys don't like you for that, then they aren't good enough for you! Good luck with the boy :]

Ask him if he would mind if you sent him an IM sometime and get his IM address. If he's a jerk he'll blab it to everyone, and even if not, people are bound to find out anyway sooner or later. What most decent boys like about girls is that the girl is interested in him. So let him know you are! It makes us feel good to be admired.

It will wind up over the whole school. You don't have to be so blatant about "telling him" to let him know. Just be nice. Don't be gushy and retarded around him. Just be self-confident and friendly.

dont write him a letter because if he goes arounf showing it then your busted just tell him if yall can talk for a minute and lean on him and tell him that you like him
it worked great for me and actually the boy liked me too and i just ,made it alot easier for him to ask me out!!!!!!!
