I want to change a file name from mp3 to mid.

If you change it like that, the file will be damaged and you wont be able to play it since both mp3 and mid files are totally different.
Go to http://www.downloads.com and download a converter instead.

You have to get a converter to do that. If you just change the file's name, you will corrupt it and possibly make it unusable.

download a mp3 to mid converter
download.com would probably have a free one
