im 4 11 and i weigh 130 pounds i no im overweight and im trying to lose weight this summer do you have any tips or advice for me? also, what should be weight accoriding to my height

check your body mass index [bmi] and go to seventeen.com. last time i checked, they had something on there that you can use to check your bmi.

coming from me, i think you may be a bit overweight, but it also has to do with your age, etc. you should really check it out.

Find something active that you like to do. Walk a lot. Remember walking a mile is just as effective as running a mile because while you are burning less calories per minute you are spending more minutes.

Eat small meals during the day. And when you are hungry between meals eat healthy foods, fruits and veggies are your friend. Trail mix, granola and nuts are good also.

You may be somewhat overweight but make sure that you don't focus too much on it. Establish a healthy lifestyle for yourself and then the weight won't be as much of an issue. One thing you don't need during your teen years is body image issues and while I think you may be somewhat overweight it is not to an extent where you should be being hard on yourself about it.

Yeah, my best advice is just find something active that you enjoy doing and do that a few times a week. Set goals for yourself about your activity level.

To me, I do not think that you are overweight. I guess it depends on your age. But if you were more like 165 pounds then I do consider you overweight. But if you do feel this way about yourself then try to exercise more. One tip that I can give you about this is try not to think so negative about your weight. Think of other ways how you can try to increase your metabolism and eating healthier also. When I was at the height of 4'11, I weighed 126 pounds. Also I think you are a teenager(correct me if I am wrong), teenagers go through imbalances all the time. So just think positive and keep in mind that it is a normal process that you are going through.

You're 115 lbs. and you're 5'1? I gotta tell you, that doesn't sound fat to me. I wouldn't mess around with losing weight at your age. You might still have a growth spurt left and your body is going to need everything you've got to use as building blocks. Anyway, only eating 4 meals in two weeks and puking those up is VERY bad for you. It sounds like you're developing an eating disorder. Also, starving yourself will only slow down your metabolism and make it harder to lose weight. The human body is designed for survival. If you deprive it of food, it assumes that there is no food available and tries to conserve the nutrients you have left by slowing your metabolism. Sounds like your parents have problems of their own. Is there someone you can talk to like a school guidance counselor or a favorite aunt? As far as your diet, I would suggest cutting out sugary snacks and fast food. Eat lots of fruits and vegetables, get plenty of exercise, but not the eight-hour-a-day obsessive kind. Find some NEW friends and go play a sport of some kind, or go bike riding. The best advice I can give you though is to be comfortable with who you are and accepting of your own body, whether you are thin or fat or in between. I am very good friends with and have fallen in love with women who are considered overweight by today's unrealistic standards. I'm attracted to them because they are nice, witty, intelligent people. And sometimes all a woman needs to be physically attractive is a friendly smile. Go forth and be yourself, and make friends with people who like that self!

u should at least be about 100 pounds. one of the best ways to lose weight is to try and eat 5 small meals a day and work out by running or something like that every other day. swimming is a good thing to do to.

here's what you should NOT do:
try to starve yourself
try a crash diet like the ones where you can only eat protein shakes and stuff

if you're really serious about it, don't ask advice from yahoo answers, a lot of people probably don't know healthy ways to lose weight. TALK TO YOUR DOCTOR!!! (then you can find out if you even need to lose weight)

Eat your 3 meals a day around the same time. Also in between the meals drink water. Walk about 1 hr. a day. Try dance videos they work. Dont press your body. Eat smaller portions than you are used to. Also set your mind to what you want to do.

ok...maybe a little dieting...not a major one just making sure you are eating the right things and not eating anything unhealthy and then just working out by going to the gym or even running a couple laps could help....within weeks you are guaranteed to lose some weight....

I'm overweight too. Just get exercise and don't eat sweets (I lost five pounds that way and I'm still losing them.)

i'm not sure wat ur weight is suppose to be...but the easiest way i think to lose weight and healthiest is to count calories..and keep to low fat foods....you should eat like 1200 to 1500 calories a day if you want to lose weight...you can go to 1000 if you want...my sister is ur height and she did that and lost weight fast....i eat 1200 calories a day and i lost 5 lbs easily...you should start running too...it'll really tone you up...and it's not that hard
