I've read that boo too and it's great. Yes Vlad Tepes was a real historical character. It was simply Dracula that Brahm Stoker made up. I think he morphed Elizabeth Balthory and Vlad Tepes into Dracula.

Vlad (the Impaler) existed. Dracula was fictional character. Vlad was not called Dracula.Dracula was based on Vlad ( the impaler) because he was thirsty for the blood of his enemies,I don't think he drank blood.Let me see what else I remember... people in those times thought that he was immortal because when they dug up his grave after a few days or months he was not decomposed yet and he must be causing others to die when he arouse at night. There was some sort of virus going around that was killing people.thats all I can think of....

Vlad Tepes actually existed. Bram Stoke made up his character Count Dracula, who is very loosely based on the historical Count Dracul (Vlad Tepes)

Yes, Vlad the impaler actually existed. Brahm Stoker wrote his novel based on him. Actually I think he was scarier than the fictional Dracula because he was real.

heh heh heh.... well, up until less than 100 years ago... catholics were very cruel....they have had to evolve with the times to survive...... they were the most atrocious sect of torture in any religion.... the vatican library holds all the answers to all the questions people may have about the dark side of catholics. I am hoping one day people storm vatican city and demand the library opened to the public..... what a great day that would be.... the fall of the most horrendous historical religion of all time
