Citizen Kane, RKO, 1941. Orson Welles wrote (with Herman Mankiewicz), directed and starred in it when he was only 25! Stunning cinematography by Gregg Toland. Thinly-veiled references to William Randolph Hearst, who actually tried to block the film from being released. (and very nearly succeeded) It was Welles's greatest achievement, and is on everyone's top ten list of greatest films ever made.
