90 min, two periods of 45 min each and a half-time break of 15 min.
after each half the referee can give a few mins of extra time to make up for the time lost due to injuries, substitutions etc.

A football match consists in two halves of 45 minutes each (continuous clock), at the end of which the referee may assign some extra minutes depending on the stoppages that may have occured during the half. Between the halves there is a 15-minute interval.

Depending on the competition, there may be need to find a winner on one particular game (say, a knock-out round) and the game end on a tie. In that case an extra-time period of two halves of 15 minutes each will be played. If the score is tied at the end of that period a penalty shoot-out will be played, the duration of which can't be foretold.

NFL & NBA have time outs, and commercials. Hockey and soccer is non-stop. I applaud the ladies because in actuality they are tougher than men. Do not agree - have a baby and feel the pain = nothing as extreme as that = Women have a higher thresh hold for pain, ask my wife. 7/24 tummy pain with 18 scars , and she is a lovely wife of 51 years and never stops. mr h, Gulf breexe, Fl.
