Your laptop should either have a wireless internet card from any company like linksys. All you need to do is install the device and you should be internet ready. Also keep in mind that these devices have a range in which they work in so you might not be able to work on your laptopn while in car. It really depends on your location

get a built in wireless transmitter some places especially airports will have open wireless networks you can use freely other wise you'll have to know the password to connect to a wireless network if you have an internet connection at your house you can get a wireless transmitter for not much from www.newegg.com the signal will go outside your house for a ways

If it is a new model LapTop, then you already has WiFi in it. Just hast to click on it. If not, get one that will fit on your PCMCI Slot on the side of your laptop.Simple is that.Enjoy.
