My boyfriend and I are 16 and we had sex the day I was supposed to start my period. We wasn't planning on trying to get pregnant but I'm afraid our nightmare might ome true. Sometime during sex the condom busted. I was supposed to start my period yesterday but I still haven't. I've told my b/f and he's just as scared as I am. Could I be pregnant? How long do I have to wait for an accurate pregnancy test to work? I really appreciate your answers. *loves*

I'm not under that much stress. I've had this problem once before. I wasn't calling the baby a nightmare, just the situation & having to tell our parents.

I'd wait at least a couple of weeks. And don't stress LOL I know that sounds lmpossible...but stressing can just make your period even more late and make you worry even more. I'd wait about 2 weeks and take an over the counter pregnancy test and if in two more weeks you still haven't started then I'd go see a doctor and have a blood test done. If you take a pregnancy test too soon it will be in accurate because the hormones won't be high enough to tell you if you are pg.

There is a possibility that you are pregenant. But, if you worry about it too much, stress may prevent you from getting your period. So stop worrying. There are tests you take take the first day of your missed period, but its better to wait 5 days or so. You can go to a Planned Parenthood office and they'll do the test for you to make sure you get an accurate result.

You can technically get pregnant any day of your cycle, but you're less likely to get pregnant on the day your period is supposed to start. So stop stressing. Wait a few days. Take the test. And if you are pregnant you have a lot of choices these days.

Good luck.

When did the intercourse happen? If it happened within the last 72 hours, there's this pill called the morning-after pill you can take to prevent a possible pregnancy from progressing. You can check for pregnancy from the 5-6th day after intercourse. To get the pill, you do need a doctor's prescription. and please be careful in future. Use water-based lubricants to prevent condom breakages from the dryness. In any case, I would suggest you use a home pregnancy test kit to check at least twice. If you're still worried, you might want to go see a certified GP or gynaecologist to make sure.

sometimes u just get freaked out and worry and it throws everything off..i think within a month you are able to take a test and see if u are..my advice is dont have sex at 16..and if u do..pick a bf that knows how to use a condom so it doesnt break..and if u cant, then start the pill cause teh odds of a 16 year old being able to provide for a child is slim, and thats not fair to anyone..in turn, no sex, better condoms, the pill, and ur all set..hope it all works out

Any time you have sex, there is a chance you can become pregnant even if you use protection. There are pregnancy tests that you can buy at the store that work up to one week before you expect your period. There is a blood test that can be done at your doctor's office to dectect the pregnancy hormone as well, but not that much earlier than the at home test.

Sometimes when I thought I was pregnant I would just do a test and if it came up negative my period would start the next day! It's the stress of waiting for it to come and being worried.

Stress delays periods. Get a pregnancy test and if you are pregnant it may be best to abort the baby. Since you are a teen, you are most likely not be ready for the responsibility. If the pregnancy test is positive and you decide not to abort it, tell your boyfriend and your parents. He can tell his parents. You will need the support once the baby is born.

Nightmare? this is a sad when making love and the resulting new life is described is a nightmare. Boy if you are pregnant that new life already is labeled nightmare. What a sad commentary on society today. If the regular tests dont' work you can go to the dr and request a blood test.

It is possible, but that doesn't mean it's true. Gotta wait a few weeks for the test to be accurate, or go down to a family planning clinic and talk to a doctor. They're real doctors, and it's confidential, so nobody's got to know. Don't be scared, you're probably fine, but if you're really worried, a doctor is the best person to talk to. Things are going to be okay.

i am muslim and we are not allowed to have sex before marriage.
Marriage is considered very suprior rather then bf and gf, please be careful, i know it must be hard to control ones temptations especially in this day and age, where sex is advertised on magazines,tv,music, friends.
lets say u are preganant and u have a daughter when she is ur age now she will do the same thing and u cant say anything abt it as u did it ur self, and the guy the will sleep with her wouldnt care because "end of the day its someone else's daughter or sister".
girls and women are like diamonds they should be treated respectfully.pls dont take what i said as an offence just giving u friendly advise
i hope allah guides u in his deen.
take care.
