I feel like both the republicans and the democrats have good things to offer. Why are we so black and white? Why can't we have a party that offers the good from both be elected. We are a democracy, That doesn't mean that only two parties should dominate congress.

I guess I don't really want to see a party take over congress, the country seem really divided right now, almost right down the middle and I don't think that is good. "Undivided, One nation, under God, I know it may not happen but it would be good to see some more parties thrown in there to show more of a true democracy. Correct me if I am wrong. Thanks for all of your input.

I don't want to see any party 'take over' congress. I want to see congressional representatives carry out the will of those who elected them.

Independent parties have such a hard struggle mainly because the vast majority of voters barely understand the viewpoints of their own party, How could they possibly understand the viewpoints of the other main opposing party and the smaller parties?

Another reason for the continued swelling of the ranks for the democratic and republican parties is that people are afraid to change their allegiance to a smaller party that suits their purposes but might not win elections. Instead of people actually voting as their conscience directs, they vote for who they think could actually win. Talk about being afraid to be on the losing team....

The two party in are exactly the same. They are financed by the same special interest and speak only for those with money to back them. That is just the way real politics works in the world. If you have another party that get in control they will learn bad in a short period time too. The system does not allow for a pro people party to exist in America.

I would like to more than the TRADITIONAL two that we have had the whole life of this country. We need to adapt to the changing times, look at Europe, most European contries have a multiple party system. And politically speaking they are superior than us. So, we need at least a 3rd party in Congress.

Right. As if that would ever happen.

The independent parties don't have the backing or the funding to ever supplant the big two, no matter how much it is needed.

well being that most independant parties don't have such strong candidates its gonna be a hard thing to do, as long as they have the peoples real interests in mind. I'd vote.
