as a gay teenager, why is it that when two girls kiss, guys think it is so hot and sexy, but when two guys kiss, everyone says ewww, or walks away, or makes fun of them? why is a man on man kiss so shunned upon and taboo?

i have no care for 2 women kissing, but i get sooooo turned on when 2 men kiss. i really like when its two straight men like in brokeback mountain(straight in real life-not in the movie)

Men showing affection for each other has always been a bit of a sign of weakness in Western cultures. I don't know about other cultures, which is why I qaulified it.
One of the things a male/male kiss does is take homosexuality out of the abstract and make it very real. It's one thing for people to accept the idea of homosexuals, but quite another to see that it is as real as heterosexuality, to see our humanity.
For many, it also suggests the sex act. They cannot seperate the idea of male/male affection from the idea of male/male sex, but it also goes a little deeper (you should forgive the choice of words) because kissing is the only expression of the sex act that is permitted in public.
It has also been used as an accusation. In the film "A View from the Bridge," a man thinks his neice's boyfriend is "not quite right" and gives him the screen's first male/male kiss, shouting at him, "That's what you are!" He doesn't say anything more, so the accusation seems to be "You are a kisser!"
In the film, The Celluloid Closet, Quentin Crisp says, "Mainstream people dislike homosexuals, because they can't help concentrating on what homosexual men do to one another. And when you contemplate what people do, you think of yourself doing it." There may be some truth to that.

The answer to your question is rooted in simple biology. It's been common throughout human history for men to take multiple wives for the purpose of a higher rate of procreation; two men is not considered biologically sound, while the prevalence of female to female sex was almost a necessity in the harems of yesterday to ensure that the women did not take other men to bed. Women can be more emotional , and can have intimate contact for far longer than the average male can sustain an erection. Women have a specific part of the body designed for pleasure only, while the male organ serves multiple functions.
Even as a grown woman, I can get turned on by watching two women make out, but not by watching two men.

Most guys have a sense that seeing to women kiss and do other things are hot because they feel they are in power even if they are not involved.
But of course straight men seeing two men kissing and doing other things repulse them. The same goes for most straight women, they rather see a man kiss a woman than another man.

I can only speak for myself. I do not think it's gross or taboo to see two men kiss. I can tell you honestly, though, that I have virtually NO gay male friends and I'm not around gay men hardly at all. So it does make me do a double take to see two men kissing but absolutely NOT because I'm horrified or disgusted by it.

Straight men are so worried about someone perceiving them as gay, if they so mu sch as think about two men kissing they go off the deep end just to save face. When two women are kissing, straight men imagine themselves in between the two girls.
I am neither turned on or repulsed by two men together, but as a lesbian, two women kissing is all it takes for me to grab my gf and take her to bed!

wen u think about 2 girlz kissin it seems so natural cuz women r known to be 1 of the softer creatures of the human race , but men were alwayz known 2 protect women and give hard love, so to see 2 kissin would be odd. some seem 2 have no problem with seein 2 men kiss, as a young gay female i have no problem with it. my older brother is gay and i love being around him and his boyfriend(s). even the most hardest men i kno like d!ck, but aint gon tell. the ones that dont like it be the ones to try it and like it.

I think its beautiful when two guys kiss...and I'm 18...
people see two girls kissing all the time, but what they dont see is two guys kissing...it's not the norm, so they make fun of it... or are disgusted...

Men are supposed to be more discrete with their feelings. So it is seen as feminine for two men to kiss in public.
