People seem to have a strong misconception regarding Karma. Unfortunately, Karma isn't an 'instant' thing. It builds up over ones lifetime. For example, if you live a bad life now, your NEXT life will see you come back as something or someone lesser than you currently are to balance out the Karma. It does not happen in the same lifetime as the action.
So I would have to say, coincidence or psycho-somatic.
kar·ma (kärm)
n.
1. Hinduism & Buddhism The total effect of a person's actions and conduct during the successive phases of the person's existence, regarded as determining the person's destiny.

Karma is not "cause & effect" that is a common misconception..." cause & effect " is more along the lines of reciprocity... According to Hindu belief Karma literally means "action" it does not mean "what goes around, comes around" it is NOT cause & effect, it is a reward or punishment in your next life >>>as in how you will be reincarnated... If you fulfill your dharma which means "natural law" or way of higher truths... then you will be elevated in caste...if you don't then maybe you will stay the same caste... maybe even be demoted in caste...when karma is taken out of the hindu/ buddhist religeo-societal paradigm and given a "new age spin" almost all of it's meaning is lost... and western misconception runs rampant... You got sick because you ate something that dissagrees with you...not because of "karma" It could be reciprocity biting you in the behind, but it is definately NOT Karma

Karma is about learning lifes lessons, how you handle situations. The same scenario will be presented to a person in the future, did you learn the first time? Or will you continue to make the same mistakes? Wisdom erases bad karma. Being honest, pays off!

I believe it's karma. I called in sick to work one day saying I had a bad stomach ache when I didn't then a few days later, guess what? I had a bad stomach ache. I couldn't even stand or lay down straight

Definately...karma is all about how you treat others and how you will be treated in response to that later on. You can always correct it by calling in a again and be honest or do something nice for someone else in Vegas...and remember to still enjoy yourself cause then all you've gone through won't be worth it! Karma? Hell NO!!! What you are experiencing, is called the remnants of cheap "well" brand liquors. It happens down at the corner bar as well as Las Vegas.

Did your calling in sick affect anyone else in a negative way? If it didn't then I think it's ok to call in, especially if you have the time. More likely than not you just ate something bad in Vegas.
