I've been on it for about 8 months. I love it. I've heard of doctors doing this themselves, and people going years w/out their periods and w/out complications. Is the anyone who is doing this. I'd really like your input. I did skip mine for the first time this month, I need to know long term effect.

I asked my doctor about this. Just like the pill, studies have shown that you can eliminate a few periods a year, but you should allow yourself to have your period 4 times each year. It is safe to put in a NuvaRing back to back, but never use the same ring for more than 4 weeks.

No research I have seen has shown that you can safely eliminate your period indefinitely.

Make sure you do clear this with your doctor to make sure it's safe for you.

I didn't know it was possible to try skipping a period, usually that happens when there is something wrong. I would speak toa doctor about this becasue it may not be healthy and could possible cause complications later on. Unlike the male a woman has all their eggs when they are born, they aren't created. So those eggs are going to have to be released at soem point in your life. When the body goes a month or a few months without releasing an egg it is typically because the body isn't strong enough to carry a baby this would be with a serious athelete or someone who is under weight or having some medical issues. Eventually these eggs will be released, otherwise you will never reach menopause or could possible have some medical complications. I don't know enough about it all to give you the complete answer as to how it works and what is safe and what isn't. Please speak to your docotr about what the ring should and shouldn't be doing and what the signs of any complications may be.

once you're taking the hoop as prescribed you're making your self damage by skill of bleed. when I informed my wellbeing care specialist that i replaced into doing it like you're she actual smiled at me and informed me to regulate it each 30 days instead. i have not had a "era" in 3 years yet sometimes get a tiny bit crampy on day 30. My wellbeing care specialist suggested it replaced into thoroughly probability-free as long as i'm very careful to no longer overlook to regulate it out so as that i do not get pregnant. i'm 33 with 2 little ones, so if you're youthful or do not have youthful ones i'd make certain consisting of your wellbeing care specialist or CNP.

I wouldn't do anything w/o your doctors approval. You could seriously screw something up.
