Some people have trouble being assertive in real life, so they come to the internet to insult people anonymously.

It might have something to do with the lack of grammar, spelling and communication skills some people use when asking their questions. It's one thing if you don't speak the language you are writing in, but some questions are just posted by people challenged in the basic art of communicating intelligently.

Some people are just mean spirited and don't appreciate this forum like it should be. I think the added factor of anonymity allows people to sink to their lowest level and pretty much embarrass themselves by showing how crass and uneducated they are.

Lack of social skills and the anonymity of being on a computer. Makes it easier to lash out at someone.

No clue. Maybe they are feeling small, and think being the bully will give them the empowerment they are seeking?

I agree with all three of the first answers. Or they are really young and it makes them feel big/older.
