If you have money to blow on really expensive cosmetics the best are MAC
( www.maccosmetics.com )
If you don't have tons of $ to blow, try Mary kay, I love that you can sample absolutely ANYTHING in their product line before you buy it. It works great if you are trying to find a good color combination for a special occasion or something)

I think MAC is the best. Not only in quality, but in the service as well. In a MAC store, eventhough it's in a higher price range, the make-up artists aren't snobby to you. And, they're real make-up artists. So they give you advice on colours that are best for your skin tone, eye colour etc. So don't be surprised if there are guys working behind the counter, wearing make up. Not to mention that it is a Canadian company, and I'm Canadian so maybe I'm a little biased, but they also support really good causes like the fight against aids, and they don't test on animals. Great stuff. One more thing about the price ... Yes, it is expensive, but I find that I use a lot less of their product to get the same effect, especially with eyeshadows. So in the end, it's not that much more expensive.

Mary Kay! BC they have a 100% product guarantee and it's the #1 makeup in the us! Also they don't do any animal testing! Mary Kay's motto is enriching women's lives! Now that says a lot about the company! Mary Kay also donates money to several cancer organizations and women who are abused!

NARS -lipstick and blush
Revlon - Lipgloss, super lustrous lipstick and eyeshadow
Dior - Eyeshadow and Diorshow Mascara
Maybelline - coverstick, lipsticks
Clinique - lipsticks
Haven't found the perfect foundation or powder yet....still searching. My TOP 3 are NARS, Revlon and Dior. I have just discovered Clinique lipstick and I am impressed. Chanel is next on the hitlist.

As far as foundations and applications, I have used most all of them at one time or another. I have always been disappointed until I purchased Bare Essentials. You apply it with brush. Looks very natural and feels like you are wearing nothing. It is the ONLY thing I will use now. Good luck.

I just go to a Sephora store and play around and find what works. They have unlimited possibilities.

I prefer Mary Kay. I have extremely sensitive skin and find it difficult to wear anything on my skin. I have been using Mary Kay for two months now and so far no problems. I actually get compliments on my skin now!
