I can't divide the two rectangles and figure because I don't know how long the interior walls are. They only show the length of the small walls.

I would look at it as three separate problems.

Separate the cross into three portions. I would imgaine the "arms" of the cross.....cut from the one long "body" section.

Then I would measure each section, using the Area = Length x Width rule.

After measuring all three sections, add the sums together.

That should work to arrive at the square footage.

Sorry, I don't know of any equations....math is not my forte'.

To do this, I would make the cross four rectangles of different dimensions, find the area of each rectangle separately. and then add the four areas together. tHIS WILL ONLY WORK IF U KNOW THE PERIMETER OF THE CROSS.

break it down into five squares (center, upper vertice, lower vertice, left cross member, right cross member and add the square footages of each section for total

need to see a picture of it... need to know if it is square.... i don't know that you can answer that without the long measurements
