I'm afraid to take these pills because I have a baby. I cannot just rest all day long. The information sheet really scares me about the drowsiness. Has anyone used this before and care to share their synopsis about it?

The drowsiness experienced with Xanax is temporary lasting for about five days as your body becomes used to the medication. You will be fine with your baby. If you prefer you can begin taking the medication at bedtime when your baby sleeps the longest. If you have concerns SPEAK WITH YOUR DOCTOR it is his job to teach you and your family about your condition

Xanax is for anxiety. Usually side effects for anxiety are drowsiness, lightheadedness, constipation, dry mouth, etc. I agree though, if you have a baby, only take them AS NEEDED. I, too, would only take 1/2 at a time and see if you calm down. Be sure, when taking this medication, to drink LOTS of fluids, especially water, so you don't get dry mouth or constipation. Hope that I helped.

Also, you can look up information at www.rxlist.com about this drug or ask your pharmacist.

I have 3 children and have taken Xanax. Ask your doctor or pharmacist first. My opinion is when your really anxious try half and maybe have a friend over the first couple times until you know how it will react with you.

I have taken Xanax before. It will make you nice and calm, but the after effect is you will be tired. Try to take them only when you need them if you need to be alert for the baby. I think an antidepressant will make you alot less tired, and will control your anxiety.

You should consult your doctor. The info sheet is just what COULD happen side effects wise, NOT what will happen.

Walgreens gives you a list of side effects - if your pharmacist doesn't ASK them.
