That may be his sense of humor. Something he thinks he is expected to do around "the guys". There is a stigma around marriage that it should be miserable. Your hubby may be one of those who wants to fit in so he subscribes to the stereotypes people hold of him and his life. (I could be wrong)
In private I would tell him that what he said really bothered you. Ask him if he really feels that way or if he was just trying to be funny. Inform (gently not confrontationaly) that it wasn't funny and jokes as such really hurt you, especially around other people. If he really feels that way it may be time for some marriage counseling.

It means your spouse is putting himself down and making himself look like a fool! I suspect he is the one who asked you to marry HIM.
In reality, people try to be funny and take pop shots at their spouse...and it is rarely that funny, but can cause a lot of anger. IT just isn't worth the fun? The next time this happens (and it will happen again), politely, and with a great sense of humor, point out that he is the one that asked you to marry, not vice versa, and ... with all this talk, you are having second thoughts! Let's see where the conversation heads then!!!

Very easy- Slap him with divorce papers and say "see ya- sorry you don't like married life, I shall find someone who does!"
How can you remain happy with a "marriage" like that. I would be so hurt if my hubby sis that. Was he joking or serious? If you want to stay with the guy, you need to do some communicating to find out why he's unhappy. Does he want to be able to run around with women again? If so, he'll end up cheating for sure. I would consider ending it. I

Ouch that hurts! You have a failure to communicate in your marriage. I use the Ouch Kit.
The OuchKit was designed for couples, but it works great with kids, too—at home or in the classroom. It’s for anyone who wants to improve communication and take their relationships to the next level.
The cards work great anytime, but they work MAGIC when you've got something to say but aren't ready to say it face-to-face.
You might get the kit and try it. It is time for a nice heart to heart with hubby!
Good luck!

Confront him in private, tell him how you feel when he does that. He may be thinking he is being funny an dnot realize how hurtful that is. But no excuse, that's not acceptable.

Ouch, that's not very nice. I would outright ask him why he said that and explain how you feel about it. Maybe he had no idea it would bother you.
